Space problem started the process

Lars Christensen came to Dana Lim from a position as Sales Director at Hempel A/S, bringing over 20 years of experience in international sales and marketing. He quickly realized that if Dana Lim were to reach the company’s 2020 goals of being in the top 3 in all markets, growing from DKK 300 to 500 million, and raising the EBIT margin to 6%, it was necessary to create better coherence throughout the value chain from sales to warehouse.

Our major bottleneck was an overcrowded warehouse with too many items in a small space. It was incredibly challenging, time-consuming, and distracting.

In our industry, there is no significant product differentiation, so efficient supply chain management is a very important competitive parameter. We must meet our customers’ needs for faster deliveries, higher delivery reliability, and competitive prices.

At Dana Lim, we use Inact APA to automate our analytics, which we visualize in Inact Now.

Here we track trends and progress, so it’s easy and quick to see if the focus areas are having the desired effect. Inact Now monitors the development of four key KPIs: Inventory value, delivery performance, 12-month turnover and turnover rate. One of the major benefits of the systematic approach in Inact Now is that we achieved a common language across silos, so everyone was in agreement on what “net selling price” is.
